Chocolate Pumpkin Brownie Bars

Ingredients

This Thanksgiving let "Aunt" Betty Crocker help you combine two Thanksgiving traditions--bars and brownies-- into a new one:
Bar-ownies! The Pumpkin Spice Bar Mix is a Limited Edition and we are combining it with the Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix.
This is a new twist on two favorites!

Step 1: Mix the Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix as directed, but add 1 tsp. of vanilla. Pour into an 11 x 7 pan to bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
Step 2: While the brownie mix is baking, combine the pumpkin bar mix and add an extra egg and 1 tsp. of vanilla. Pat this into a second 11 x 7 pan.
Step 3: Remove the brownie pan after 10 minutes and sit on the counter . Now, bake the pumpkin batter for 10 minutes in the second pan.
Step 4: After the pumpkin bar bakes, take it out and pour the partially baked brownies on top of the pumpkin bar batter. Now, bake this pumpkin brownie combination for an additional 15-20 minutes. Do not overbake.
Step 5: Take a can of Betty Crocker Chocolate icing and put into a mixing bowl. Add 1/4 cup of soften butter and 1 tsp. of vanilla and beat.
Step 6: Now ice the pumpkin brownie bars while they are still warm in the pan. Add one package of Nestles semi-sweet chunks of chocolate and sprinkle on top. For an extra caramel flavor, we added Ghirardelli's Dark Chocolate Carmel Candy--6 small bars chopped up and sprinkled on top.
Step 7: Let cool and then serve to waiting hungry guests. Simply Delicious...Hampton's Style!

*11 x 7 pan--is slightly smaller than the traditional 11 x 13 pan to make these thicker bar-ownies
